Sketch time.

Did some sketches, one tonight, one before I started The Last of the Fourth Tribe, both of characters in that story.

Just took three pictures of each, tonight, with my webcam.  So, not the best quality… but I can’t get to my scanner at the moment, so it’s the best I can get.

Pics of the beast first, then of Mayako.  Drawn with different pencils… don’t think I’m going to be using the one I used to sketch Mayako again anytime soon.  I don’t like how she came out…

Just got the book thongs

I just got the book thongs I ordered from Tiffany Ross at Shivae Studios that I mentioned a couple days ago, and they are beautiful.  I was speechless for several minutes after I opened the package.  The craftsmanship is just gorgeous.  I’m definitely ordering from her again in the future.

Everyone who reads this should go check her out!  Even if book thongs aren’t your thing, she has other stuff =).  So go support an independent artist!

Am up and writing

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am indeed up and writing away, so there should be at least one new chapter of The Last of the Fourth Tribe up today.  I will have to leave at some point a little later, but hopefully I’ll have a chapter ready to be posted before then and can get back to writing after I get back.

Barely 5pm and it’s already been a long day…

Normally I don’t wake up until 4pm, but today I had to hit the ground running at 7:30am in order to get the cat to the vet in time.  This is after going to bed about 3:45am and listening to the cats yowl all night because I couldn’t leave food out for them after 8:00.

Didn’t even get a chance to rest until after noon, then had to turn around and leave again about 3:30 to pick said cat up.  Thankfully he’s mellow and hasn’t taken his neutering as a personal affront.

Can’t even draw a straight line or keep concentration long enough to work on another chapter or on the wiki.  Hopefully I can get a nap and be able to get back to work on LotFT later tonight, though; even though I only have it scheduled for once a week and I’ve got this week’s up, I’d really like to build up both a buffer and an archive.

 

On another note, I just bought a couple of book thongs (#7 and #9)  from Tiffany Ross over at Shivae.net.  Really looking forward to getting them, they look absolutely gorgeous.  And while you’re there, why don’t you read some of her stories? 😉

I ran across one of her stories, Alien Dice, not that long ago, and I fell in love with her work.  She is a very good artist and an amazing storyteller.  The wares she sells are also beautiful and vary pretty widely.  So if you’ve got some spare change, how about sending it a fellow independent artist’s way?

On second thought…

I think I might actually post the story itself up first, then do the comic later.  So far I rather like how the writing’s turning out, for once.  I don’t know if this will be the main site for the story though (which I still can’t figure out a name for!).  Think I might just host it on livejournal or something, I dunno.

Anyone who reads this and has any experience on this kind of stuff, do you have any suggestions?  They’d be much appreciated!

Working on a webcomic

As the title implies, I’ve started working on a webcomic.  I’ve got one piece of concept art sketched out, and some ideas of where it’ll go, but for now I’m gonna focus on writing out the actual story of it.

For now, the story part will remain private, and once I’ve got a few chapters or so written out, I’m going to (hopefully) get some actual pages drawn and put up.  Unless I change my mind, the only part of it that’ll go public will be the comic itself, though maybe later on, if it does well, I’ll publish the chapters I’ve written out as a novel-version or some such.

Most likely I’ll be putting the comic up on two sites, since I know how one can go down and you can lose everything that way…so I’m planning for this to be a mirror-site for the comic (the other site probably going to be DrunkDuck).  Or at least, I hope so.  I’m not sure how I’ll do comments, though; whether to allow them on one site or the other, on both, on neither, maybe allow them on one site and try to copy them over so they don’t get lost if one of the sites crash…I don’t know.  I guess I’ll figure that out later, or maybe (if anyone even reads this…) I can get some feedback on it.

First actual post! =D

Oh. Boy.

Got on this morning to check my RSS feeds, and there was one from Alexandra Erin’s Twitter page, mentioning site layouts. Also an update to her blog, Refresh Monkeys and Usual Nuts. By now I’ve read both in my RSS reader, and have yet to see the new site design.
